Owner of the Sun was built on the idea that great music doesn’t have to fit neatly into a single genre. Blending the heart of bluegrass with the energy of punk and the emotion of emo, we created a sound that was uniquely our own. With three lead vocalists sharing the spotlight, every performance was dynamic, collaborative, and full of surprises. Over four years, we played venues throughout Atlanta and western North Carolina, recorded a full-length album, and built a loyal following along the way. Though the band came to an end in 2015, it remains one of the most adventurous and creatively fulfilling projects I’ve ever been a part of. Plus, we’re all still great friends!

Owner of the Sun was fronted by Keith Laguna, Brad Boulet, and Mekenzie Kettlewell. Drums by Patrick Cochran. Bass by Jesse Benton. Featuring Herb Bailey on harmonica, Alma Russ on fiddle, and Alex Thrift on lead and backing guitars.
